Acting Troupe: Actor Training and Performance Workshop
Workshop dates: 12 sessions 6:00 - 8:00 pm (please note: the last 6 sessions will end at 8:30 pm)
The Allegra actor's workshop is designed for committed, enthusiastic, and talented young people who want to learn the acting craft (ages 7 through 17 years). All levels of experience are encouraged to audition.
Tuition: $495 — 12 week program plus $35 annual registration fee
This 12-week intensive workshop drills down into the acting craft giving ambitious young actors the opportunity to develop and refine their acting skills using a variety of theatrical techniques. Working with partners, they engage in scene study, study motivation, and use of proper voice. Troupe participants work on the nuts and bolts of the actors toolkit: scenes, skits, monologues, and most importantly, improvisation.
Our young actors learn how to create and own their believable characters. These roles are created from traditional, modern, and comedic materials, and actors learn effectively how to think on their feet when things don't go as planned. In this workshop we also address individual actor challenges that may inhibit their ability to give their best performance—and are most often not aware of.
Motivated students are encouraged to attend this fun and engaging workshop. The semester ends with a staged performance representative of the semester's work.
