The Allegra School of Music and Art is proud to present “Shruthi” – an Indian Classical voice workshop presented by Smt. Arundhati Sinha. This workshop will teach students the beautiful art of Indian singing with Hindustani and Carnatic traditions as a framework. In this workshop, you will build a strong foundation in your musical journey in the Indian Classical tradition. You will learn the swaras (notes), alankaras (swara patterns), develop techniques to acquire clarity of voice and the stability of the note and rhythm pattern. Students will receive voice training with basic exercises and instruction on the classical elements of Raga and Tala. Student will learn songs of different types such as Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrulgeeti, Folk songs, Bhajans, modern songs, and selected film songs. Classes are open to all, ages 5 and up, there are no pre-requisites. |
![]() Arundhati Sinha is a 2nd generation Indian Classical vocalist. She had initial training from her mother Srimathi Ratna Sinha who is a prominent and talented singer/performer/music teacher (Bhatkhande Tradition), operating a music school for the last two decades in Guwahati, Assam.
Arundhati focuses on teaching vocal techniques to her students from basic pitch and notes to proper breathing while singing, along with music theory. She holds a Visharad (Bachelors in Music) in Vocal Hindustani Classical Music from Bhatkhande University in Lucknow. |
